How Much Involvement Should Publishers Have in the Writing Process?

I keep thinking about whether the best book publishers for new authors should go beyond publishing and actually support the writing stage as well. For many first time writers, developing a strong manuscript can be just as challenging as finding the right publisher. Some companies provide writing guidance, while others prefer to work only with completed drafts. From your perspective, does publisher involvement in writing strengthen a book, or should it remain the author’s sole responsibility?

I think publishers should have a balanced level of involvement in the writing process—enough to ensure quality, clarity, and market fit, but not so much that they take away the author’s original voice. Editorial guidance and feedback can really strengthen a manuscript when done collaboratively. It also reminds me of academic writing, where students sometimes look for an engineering research paper service when facing pressure, but learning to structure ideas independently often leads to better long-term understanding and skill development.
