Anyone else start out in Functional Testing QA and feel a bit lost at first?
Hey folks, I just wanted to share a bit of my experience and see if others can relate or offer any advice. I recently got into QA, specifically doing functional testing, and while I’m slowly finding my footing, it’s definitely been a learning curve. Understanding how to approach test cases, figuring out where bugs hide, and balancing communication with devs — it’s a lot to take in at first.
I’ve been trying to read up more about it outside of work too, and this article I found helped break down the basics in a way that actually made sense to me: https://www.testing4success.com/activities/functionaltesting.html.
I'm curious — for those of you who’ve been in Functional Testing QA for a while, what helped you improve early on? Any resources, habits, or real-world lessons that made a difference? Would love to hear how others got more confident in this role.
